This site is always under construction, beginning on May 04, 2002
and it is going to be used for two purposes.
First as a focal point for updating and extending the work of Grace Croft and her book "The History and Genealogy of the Milk-Milks Family"
Secondly, it is going to be used to try to build a "History and Genealogy of the England Milk Family"
Web pages will be constructed for material on this subject.
I am currently collecting data with which to update Croft's great book. It has been almost 50 years since Croft's last publication, and much has happened in the family since then. I am fortunate enough to live in the midst of Milk-Milks "country" in New York state and I am taking advantage of this to visit cemeteries, court houses, libraries, and family members, among other sources. It is my plan to publish both a hard-back book and a CD in mid-2003, to supplement Croft's book. Material relevant to this project is hereby solicited and would be greatly appreciated. I welcome "associate editors" who could cover a specific state, area, or branch of our family. You are encouraged to correspond with me by Email or by U.S. mail. Please use the direct Email form that follows, or the addresses shown at the bottom of this page.
Since Croft's book is out of print and difficult to find, I have produced a scanned image CD of her 1956, 2nd Edition. This CD comes with an image reader that is extremely easy to use and which makes it a breeze to "leaf" through the "book". It also includes the every-name index from Croft
The CD is available for $20.00 (includes shipping/handling) from the address shown at the bottom of this page.
Web pages are in place for material on this subject. Click on the link above.
I have been corresponding with several Milk family members in the UK, who have been very gracious in collecting and contributing from various sources in the UK. I have also been collecting data from various sources that are accessible on the internet. It is believed that John Milk of Salem, our immigrant ancestor, came from Norfolk, England around 1662, and it is my hope to be able to establish the link between John and the current UK Milk family. Material relevant to this project is hereby solicited and would be greatly appreciated. You are encouraged to correspond with me by Email or by U.S. mail. Please use the direct Email form that follows, or the addresses shown at the bottom of this page.
We also accept MONEY ORDERS and PERSONAL CHECKS.
